Famous French bass player, Dominque Di Piazza is a winner of a ” Victoire de la Musique” for best Jazz album for his album “Frontpage”. He was bass player for the ” John Mc Laughlin Trio” next to the percussionist Trilok Gurtu and has also collaborated with André Ceccarelli to just name a few. Di Piazza is the initiator of the 5 string bass and of the ”four-finger picking technique”, a revolutionary innovation for this instrument that spread throughout Europe and the US, and is used by many new generation bass players, such as Matthew Garrison, Adam Nitti or Hadrien Feraud.
