Emile Parisien Quartet (France)

Several times awarded at the Victoires du Jazz, Emile Parisien, a high level jazzman.

The saxophonist and jazz composer Emile Parisien enrolled in Marciac college of music at 11.  Over the years, he had the opportunity to perform with leading jazz figures such as Wynton Marsalis, Chris Mc Bride or Johnny Griffin at the Jazz in Marciac festival. After moving to Paris, he founded in 2004 the Emile Parisien Quartet with Julien Touery (piano), Sylvain Darrifourcq (drums) and Ivan Gélugne (double bass). Inspired by composers such as Berlioz, Stravinski, Wagner or John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter, the quartet adds a touch of expressionism to his compositions, where improvisation is the main guiding. By pushing the limits of the concrete, the band acquires, thanks to the complicity of its musicians, a very personal and resolutely modern expression. Emile Parisien has received prestigious distinctions such as Victoires du Jazz or Django Reinhart awards.

A high level jazz concert not to be missed.
