The 18-year career of American saxophonist, singer and songwriter James Martin has earned him several international accolades, including Best Saxophonist at OffBeat’s Best of the Beat Music Awards. Martin began his career at the prestigious New Orleans Center for Creative Arts as a founding member of the “Trombone Shorty” band. Martin began his solo career in 2008, and recently created the James Martin Band, with which he performed at numerous festivals in Europe, the Middle East and of course regularly at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. His latest album, “Keep moving” was ranked 9th on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart. “This album is me, it’s funky and refined, poetic and festive, playful and introspective,” says Martin… the Haitian public can’t wait to discover it.
Jazz music straight from New Orleans to PAPJAZZ… we’re looking forward to it!
