A distinctive flamenco duo at the PAPJAZZ

Javier Colina is a musician of astonishing versatility in Spain and in Europe. He inherited the expressive dynamism of Bill Evans. He expresses himself with ease in jazz as well as in Latin music, pop but is especially recognized as a legend of the flamenco double bass. He made his debut as a bassist of the famous trio he formed with drummer Guillermo McGuill and pianist Chano Domínguez. Throughout his career, he collaborated with more than thirty famous musicians from around the world, notably with the pianist Bebo Valdés and Diego in the project “El Cigala”.

Josemi Carmona is a guitarist who has been in the Flamenca atmosphere since his childhood, he has formed the flamenco group “La Barberia del sur” but has made his name known through the Ketama group of the 80’s. He has released several albums, a collaborate with artists such as Paco de Lucía, Manuel Carrasco, Bandolero and Piraña. His guitar speaks to us with a silky tone to the flamenco soul. Javier Colina and Josemi Carmona recently collaborated on the ablum “De cerca”.
