Young drummer from Port-au-Prince, Johnbern Thomas masters many different styles that represent the dynamic cultural mix of his region. From Jazz to swing, reggae to blues, pop to konpa, he defines himself nonetheless as a Jazz drummer. He has worked alongside Claude Carré, Joel & Mushy Widmaier, Mikaben, BélO, Rutshelle Guillaume and the American pianist Aaron Goldberg. Few are the ones that haven’t worked with him in the local music scene. In 2017 he has released his first album ”Mesi, Merci, Thank you, Gracias”. For his concert, he will be featuring the American pianist Aaron Goldberg, the American saxophonist Godwin Louis and the American trumpet player Darren Barrett.
It is a great pleasure for the PAPJAZZ to welcome Johnbern Thomas as an asset for the Haitian jazz scene with his guests.
