Born to a German mother and a Liberian father, Pat Appleton returns to live in Germany at the age of 18 to start her studies in political science but quickly changes path when she turned to music. Since 1998 she is a singer-song writer and singer of the band De-Phazz. She first got a lot of attention for the song Mambo Craze, which she cowrote with the founder of the band Pit Baumgärtner, then through her tour in Germany and Central Europe. the band De-Phazz got nominated twice at the German Echo and was ranked inin the top 10 German jazz charts for several weeks. Pat Appleton has been described as the new most important jazz voice in German contemporary jazz by the German TV channel 3sat. She tours the world with her band De-Phazz as well as collaborates with other bands such as Jazzkantine, Nighthawks, Airmate and Kurt Maloo. Pat Appleton has released many albums with her band et 3 other solo albums.
