Johnbern Thomas and his band (Haiti)

Johnbern THOMAS made his debut on the drums with his father, who himself is a drummer. His meeting with experienced musicians like Claude CARRE, Aaron GOLDBERG, Joël and Mushy WIDMAIER, Pierre BONCY, Mark Richard MIRAND motivated him to devote himself to Jazz. He spent a little while in the Dominican Republic where he collaborated with renowned jazz musicians, such as Miguel Andres TEJEDA, Fella VEGA, Rafael MIRABAL, and Sandy GABRIEL. When he returned to Haiti in 2012, he formed the Johnbern Quintet and was invited to play at the International Jazz Day, at the PAPJAZZ, and at the Santo Domingo Jazz Festival. That same year he represented Haiti in the American One Beat program, where he got to meet other talented jazz musicians. Since then, he has toured with his group or as an accompanying drummer in jazz festivals in the West Indies, the United States, Asia, Europe, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Johnbern recorded his 1st album Johnbern THOMAS Trio in 2019.
