Here is a trio piano, bass and drums unlike any other. NEC+ explores off the beaten path the fertile ground of jazz and world music. Founded in 2019, before Étienne M’Bappé and the Prophets, NEC+ is making a name for themselves and a whole program. “N” for Nicolas Viccaro, a breathtaking drummer, “C” for Christophe Cravero, an explosive pianist coupled with an impressive violinist and “E”, in the middle, for Etienne, a great Cameroonian bassist, with a special trademark; the only one in the world you’ve ever seen play electric six-string with gloves! M’Bappé is not Kylian’s father or uncle -just a distant cousin, but the Douala native has an unbeatable track record of touring with Jonasz and Higelin, the sacred monsters of jazz like Joe Zawinul and John McLaughlin and ultra-mixed bands like Santana, Ultramarine and Chic Hot with Mario Canonge.
