Zèklè (Haiti)

ZÈKLÈ, a mythical band from the 80’s, a true revolution in the musical universe of its time with a beat that is both rock and konpa, tinged with jazz fusion, which will reach the height of its expression when Joël Widmaier, drummer, singer and leader of the band, joins forces with Ralph Boncy, Ti Raoul Denis and Mushy Widmaier. The band launches the New Generation current and releases more than 4 albums.  It tours everywhere, notably in the United States, in the Caribbean, in many European countries, and particularly at the Sphinx Festival in the Netherlands, at the New Morning in Paris, and at the festival Musiques métisses in Angoulême. Zèklè is a big band with a crazy energy and whose lyrics are sometimes of a great tenderness, sometimes committed and stick resolutely to the current events.
