PAPJAZZ's Scène découvertes (Discovery Stage) invites you to the Centre Culturel Caraïbes (CCC) for four evenings of showcases, from September to December 2026.
The artists for the first evening, scheduled for September 17, have already been selected. Applications remain open for the next three Discovery Stages in October, November, and December 2026.
The PAPJAZZ Scène découvertes is a series of showcases dedicated to emerging Haitian artists, across all musical genres.
A showcase is a short musical performance that allows an artist or group to present, under professional conditions, a representative glimpse of their musical style, repertoire, and stage presence.
Through this initiative, PAPJAZZ offers new talents the opportunity to perform in front of audiences and industry professionals, gain visibility, and bring wider recognition to their artistic project.
Sixteen artists or groups will be programmed in total.
Four artists or groups will perform at each of the four evenings.
The four artists or groups for the first evening have already been selected.
Twelve spots remain to be filled for the October, November, and December evenings.
Each artist or group will have 20 minutes of performance time.
A transportation allowance of 2,000 HTG per person will be granted to artists participating in the showcase, up to a limit of seven musicians per group, plus one manager who may be added.
At the end of each evening, a "Favorite" will be selected based on audience voting and the evaluation of a jury present on site.
The four "Favorites" will be programmed at the Scène découvertes of the 20th edition of PAPJAZZ, in January 2027, and will benefit from the festival's official visibility.
To support their future promotion, they will also benefit from:
- a professional EPK (Electronic Press Kit);
- professional photos taken during their performance;
- a professionally edited promotional video created from their performance.

In total, 16 artists or groups will be programmed, four per evening. Each artist or group will have 20 minutes on stage, in front of an audience, under professional performance conditions.
The performances will also be recorded and broadcast on television and streamed on the platforms and networks of Radio Télévision Caraïbes, PAPJAZZ, and the Institut français en Haïti.
The Scène découvertes is open to:
- all musical genres;
- emerging artists and groups with a maximum of seven musicians on stage, plus an optional manager;
- artists and groups based in Port-au-Prince;
- artists able to deliver a 20-minute live performance with musicians.
- The performance must include live singing/playing. Full playback is not accepted.
- The use of sequences, samples, or pre-recorded elements that are an integral part of the artistic project is permitted, provided they are original creations by the artist or group.
- The use of instrumental tracks, music, or recordings belonging to third parties is not permitted.
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Minor candidates must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
An artist or group is considered emerging if they are engaged in an artistic pursuit and wish to develop a professional career, but do not yet have established recognition on the national or international music scene.
The artist may already have stage experience, released tracks, or developed a musical project, while still being in a phase of building their visibility, audience, professional network, and distribution opportunities.
The Scène découvertes is thus aimed at artists with an identifiable musical project that is sufficiently developed to be presented publicly, but who do not yet have regular access to major stages, festivals, media, or professional circuits.
Artists who already enjoy significant national recognition, a regular presence at major events or in the media, or a solidly established professional career are not considered emerging.
Applications from female artists and groups that include women among their members are particularly encouraged.
The application package must include:
- at least one good-quality photo representing the artist or group;
- a biography, EPK, or press kit, in French or Creole, presenting the artist or group, their musical genre, and their members;
- at least two links to live performance videos accessible online, notably on YouTube or Vimeo;
- a technical rider.

SELECTION SCHEDULE
The selection of the four artists or groups programmed for the first Scène découvertes, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, is complete.
Applications remain open for the next three evenings:
Thursday, October 8, 2026;
Thursday, November 12, 2026;
Thursday, December 10, 2026.
Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Selected artists and groups will be informed by email of their performance date and the terms of participation.

Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- the musical quality of the project, composition, and/or performance;
- the quality of vocal and/or instrumental performance;
- the originality and artistic identity of the project;
- stage presence and potential;
- the project's potential for development and exposure;
- the ability to present the project in a 20-minute showcase format.
By participating in the Scène découvertes, selected artists agree to the photographic, video, and audio recording of their performance, as well as its broadcast, in full or in excerpts, on the communication materials and broadcasting platforms of the Scène découvertes, PAPJAZZ, and its partners.
The specific terms regarding recording, use of images, and broadcasting will be communicated to selected artists.
